Cancelled Ride Out – 22nd October 2017

Hi Everyone
Due to the Storm Brian and the worsening weather that is forecasted with heavy rains and very strong winds in the Manchester, Preston and Blackpool areas. Richard and I have postponed this ride out until next weekend (Sunday 29th October)All the timings and routes remain the same to St Annes.
Richard and I are sorry about cancelling this Ride Out but we hope you all understand, it’s your safety that we have in mind.

Final Ride Out – St Annes 22nd October 2017

The final rideout for the season to Fairhaven Lake, St Annes, will take place this coming Sunday 22 October, weather permitting.
 
Meeting at Barton aerodrome at 10.00 with briefing at 10.20 and departure at 10.30. Please note that the route to Barton from the M60 has now changed with a new road layout which takes traffic past the Barley Farm pub.
 
The route for the outward journey will be via the M60 (north/clockwise) M66, A56 to Haslington. We will then take the M65 to Bamber Bridge and head for Preston Harley-Davidson where will stop for a brew and view the new 2018 range of motorcycles. From Preston Harley-Davidson we will ride to St Annes via Freckleton and Warton.
Outward distance is a total of 54 miles.
 
The return journey will be via Wrea Green and Kirkham back to Preston and we will then pick up the M61 at Bamber Bridge. The rideout will conclude at Rivington Services on the M61.
Return distance is 32 miles.
 
There will be a fuel stop on the return journey south of Preston.

Malcolm’s Mystery Ride Sunday 8th October

Re: Mystery Ride out Sunday 8th October ( weather permitting )
 
Meeting point will be McDonalds ( SK14 3AU ), Mottram end of the M67, meeting at around 9.30am for a 10.00am prompt start.
Ride out distance start to finish is around 130 miles.
Duration is 4 to 4 ½ hrs actual riding time.
There will be 3 stops for refreshments etc plus 1 x fuel stop around the ½ way mark.
The ride is intended to give some quality riding, some decent views and some good technical content.
It is also set in a manner such that anybody short on time can easily break away for an early return if they so choose without being too lost.
As this is a mystery ride there will be no Satnav routes provided.
The usual please in that a full tank and empty bladder needed.
